Principal photography wraps on 'The Hobbit'

Peter Jackson announced on his Facebook page today that principal photography has wrapped on his two-part adaptation of "The Hobbit."

"We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con! Cheers, Peter J," the director posted.

"The Hobbit" will be presented at two films. The first, titled “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” will be released on Dec. 14. The second, titled “The Hobbit: There and Back Again,” is slated for release the following year, on Dec. 13, 2013.
