Anthony Hopkins to play Methuselah in 'Noah'

Actor Anthony Hopkins will be playing older than his own age when he joins the cast of "Noah" as the Biblical figure of "Methuselah."

Anthony Hopkins
Director Darren Aronofsky tweeted the news today, posting, "i'm honored to be working with the great sir anthony hopkins. we just added him to the stellar cast of ‪#Noah‬. ‪#methuselahlives‬."

The film tells the Biblical tale of Noah (Russell Crowe, "Gladiator"), who was directed by God to create a giant ark to save two of every animal before a great flood wiped the Earth clean.

"Harry Potter" actress Emma Watson will play Ila, a woman who is involved with Noah's son Shem, portrayed by Douglas Booth ("The Pillars of the Earth" and the forthcoming "Romeo and Juliet").

Logan Lerman ("Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lighning Thief") is also attached as Noah's other son Ham, and Ray Winstone ("Snow White and the Huntsman") is set to play the film's antagonist.

This will be Aronofsky's followup to his Academy Award-nominated films "Black Swan" and "The Wrestler."
