The long-languishing "Ghostbusters 3" project has new writers, according to Dan Aykroyd.
The actor spoke with WIVB (found via Comingsoon.net) in Amherst, N.Y., while promoting his Crystal Head Vodka.
Asked about the movie, Aykroyd said, ""We've got a new writing staff working on it now. It's got to be prefect. That's the whole thing. There's no point in doing it unless it's perfect. So that's what we're up to now."
Last August, the actor said the project was moving forward and could begin filming this past spring, which obviously didn't happen.
The original "Ghostbusters" film hit theaters in 1984 with the sequel following in 1989. The franchise also spawned the animated series "The Real Ghostbusters" and "Extreme Ghostbusters."
