Rising from the ashes

Like the Phoenix, Marquee Entertainment is rising from the ashes one more.

This blog had seen a number of incarnations over the years, so I'm not going to say that this time will be any more successful than the last time. While in the past I concentrated mostly on entertainment news items pertaining mostly to movies but also to television, I'm going to try to stick more to commentary and reviews this go around.

Since my movie reviews are already published weekly, and now available in truncated form online here, I'm going to concentrate more on television reviews, if for no other reason than to make use of the time I spend watching TV.

If my any chance someone scrolls back through this blog far enough to see this post, let me tell a little about myself. I have been a published movie critic for the past eight years.

Marquee Entertainment reborn

A year ago today, I made my last post on Marquee Entertainment. My day job's responsibilities coupled with my other obligations and commitments simply did not leave me enough time to properly devote this blog and maintain it at a level I felt was sufficient.

Now, a year later, I feel that my life is a point that not only do I have the time, but if there are days I don't, I will make the time.

I do plan to continue provide news stories on movies in the sci-fi, fantasy, comic book and similar genres, as well as those projects that interest me enough to write about them. Additionally, there are several features I plan to unveil over the next few weeks, including trailer reviews and more.

I will also post links to shortened versions of my film reviews that are now being posted online at PerryNewspapers.com.

Once again, I hope you enjoy this blog and find it entertaining and informative.

We're back!

It's a new year and with it, Marquee Entertainment is back up and running with a new design and renewed enthusiasm to report and comment on the world of film and television..

Other obligations forced me to put my blogging into retirement for the past few months, but I don't plan on that happening again.

Dead modem = no internet

I apologize for the lack of posts over the past few days. After seven solid years of service, my ISP modem died. Of course it would have to go out on a Friday afternoon. I finally got it replaced yesterday and and now back in business.

Back in business

Unless you have a blog with Google's Blogger service, you probably didn't notice that the system was having major issues over the past 48 or so hours.

First we got locked out, then our blogs reset back to Wednesday morning, deleting all posts made after that time. Well, now we're back again, although not all of my missing posts are back. I'll try to get them back up as time allows.

It's been a busy Friday in the entertainment work, so enough of this. Let's get back to work.

Apologies for the lack of posts lately. I was out of town and although the place I was staying at offered free wireless internet, that does you little good if your laptop refuses to connect to it.

After an all-too brief attempt at creating an online presence in 2009, it's time to jump back into the deep end.

Welcome to the all-new Marquee Entertainment, where we will be discussing the latest movie news along with the occasional juicy TV tidbits. My movie reviews, for the time being, will remain in print form and can be currently read weekly in the Perry News-Herald in Florida, and the South Padre Island Parade in Texas. Hopefully that will be expanding soon.
